Creamy buttery mashed potatoes are one of my favorite guilty pleasures. I love the addition of garlic cloves boiled along with russet potatoes, so yummy. This is the easiest recipe to get restaurant quality mashed potatoes in no time.

The ingredients are straight-forward and easy to find. I recommend using unsalted butter because you can control the sodium a lot better that way. Simply add salt to your liking:

Creamy Mashed Potatoes Recipe:

6 russet potatoes

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup 2 percent milk

1/4 pound unsalted butter (one stick)

2 cloves garlic

salt and pepper to taste (up to 1 teaspoon each)

Directions:

Peel potatoes and cut into 1 inch cubes

Cover cold potatoes with water in a large stock

Add whole garlic cloves into the water

Bring to a rolling boil on high heat

Turn heat down to medium/high and allow to potatoes to continue cooking at a low boil

Drain potatoes in a colander

Place potatoes back in warm pot (removed from heat) to allow steam to escape for ten minutes

Place potato ricer over large bowl, rice potatoes and garlic together

Mix in 1/4 stick of unsalted butter
