Green Goddess Dip

Green Goddess Dip is a favorite of mine for fancy and casual parties alike. It’s such a fun old school throwback. My more modern version adds basil and anise seed to the classic recipe, it makes for a delightful surprise.

I like to pair this dip with veggies, shrimp, breadsticks and cheese. Or you can thin the dip to dressing consistency by increasing wet ingredients to taste, it's delicious on a tossed salad.

Ingredients:

½ cup basil

½ cup parsley

12-16 chives, cut in 2 inch pieces

1 tablespoon yellow or white onion

3 anchovy fillets

1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt

1/3 cup mayonnaise

¼ teaspoon anise seed

Juice of half a lemon

Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Blend all ingredients together in a food processor and serve cold with shrimp and veggies for dipping.

Adding more greek yogurt and lemon juice (teaspoon at a time) for thinner dip.
