BBQ Chicken Sliders with Jicama Apple Slaw

This is a go-to recipe of mine for casual parties. These chicken sliders are super easy to make and so much more healthy than cheeseburgers, especially when paired with my jicama apple slaw.

Use ground chicken for juicy and flavorful sliders.

Barbecue Chicken Sliders

Recipe by Andrea

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chicken

  • 1 tablespoon barbecue sauce

  • 1 tablespoon country dijon (coarse ground mustard)

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated garlic

  • 1/4 cup panko (Japanese breadcrumbs)

  • kosher salt and fresh ground pepper to taste (about 1/2 teaspoon each)

  • 1 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 tablespoon canola or vegetable oil

Directions:

Mix egg, barbecue sauce, dijon, garlic, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper together in a large mixing bowl.

Add chicken and gently mix until ingredients are just incorporated.

Scoop mixture using an ice cream scoop, flatten into patties, to make approximately 6 uniform sized sliders.

(If you're making patties ahead, place them on wax paper in an airtight container, refrigerate and store up to 8 hours.)

Heat oils in a large saute pan over medium-high heat.

Add patties, be sure not to over crwod the pan.

Fry patties about 6 minutes on each side.

Serve with Honey Lime Jicama and Apple Slaw.
