Warm Gooey Goodness

Baked Brie with Orange Infused Fig Jam

This dish takes the cake on warm-gooey-cheesy-goodness...Let's just say, this is a topic upon which I am well-versed.

So what makes it so good? The figs! Don't get me wrong, I know figs aren't everybody's thing. Ordinarily, I don't salivate at the thought. But there is something about the marriage between warm brie cheese, tart orange zest and sweet fig jam. In my book, this is one nuptial meant to last a lifetime.

ahhh...

Here's all you need:

Baked Brie makes a great holiday party appetizer or dessert. Serve it in a pretty pie pan or other decorative cookware so the brie stays warm. Then spread crackers, pears and apples around for easy dipping.

Enjoy!

Vermilion Lane C.H.E.F. ~ Fancy Schmancy

Ingredients:

  • 1 (8-ounce) wheel brie cheese (approximate size)

  • 1/2 cup pecan halves

  • 1 cup fig jam

  • 1 zest of whole clementine (I always have these on hand for the kids but any orange will do, use half for large oranges)

  • 1 tablespoon orange juice

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350ºF.

  • Place brie in a heat proof serving dish

  • Combine fig jam, clementine zest and orange juice in a small mixing bowl.

  • Spoon jam mixture over brie and sprinkle pecans over top

  • Bake brie for 15 minutes; the inside should be very soft when you push gently on the top.

  • Serve with apples, pears, crackers and breadsticks for dipping
